liposic eye gel 10 gm
DESCRIPTION
Liposic Ophthalmic Gel is a sterile, high-viscosity ocular tear substitute formulated with Carbomer 980 (2 mg/g / 0.2%) combined with Medium-Chain Triglycerides (MCT). Specifically engineered to address evaporative and aqueous-deficient dry eye syndromes (keratoconjunctivitis sicca), it provides dual-action ocular surface reconstruction: the hydrophilic carbomer polymer forms an extensive cross-linked hydrogel meshwork that binds substantial volumes of water, mimicking the physiological mucin and aqueous layers of the precorneal tear film. Concurrently, the dispersed lipid component forms a micro-emulsion barrier across the air-tear interface, suppressing excessive evaporation of natural tears. Due to its pseudoplastic rheological properties, the gel liquefies during blinking to distribute smoothly across the cornea and bulbar conjunctiva, transitioning back into a protective, long-retention ocular film at rest. It is packaged in a sterile ophthalmic tube of 10 g.
Key Benefits
-
Extended Ocular Surface Retention: Provides significantly longer residence time on the cornea compared to conventional low-viscosity eye drops, reducing instillation frequency.
-
Dual Hydro-Lipidic Protection: Carbomer hydrogel replenishes the aqueous-mucin deficit while lipidic triglycerides reinforce the external lipid layer to inhibit tear evaporation.
-
Immediate & Sustained Symptomatic Relief: Rapidly alleviates burning, stinging, foreign body sensation, grittiness, and reflex tearing.
-
Corneal Epithelial Shielding: Coats exposed epithelial cells, promoting tissue re-epithelialization and protecting against mechanical friction from blinking.
-
Ideal Nocturnal Lubricant: Excellent viscosity profile for bedtime administration, preventing nocturnal ocular desiccation and morning eyelid adherence in lagophthalmos or severe keratitis sicca.
Key Ingredients (per gram)
-
Carbomer 980 (2 mg / 0.2% w/w): High-molecular-weight cross-linked synthetic acrylic acid polymer.
-
Medium-Chain Triglycerides (MCT): Purified physiological lipid phase that suppresses evaporative tear loss.
-
Excipients & Preservative: Cetrimide (preservative), sorbitol (osmotic balancing agent), sodium hydroxide (pH adjustment to physiological ocular pH approx. 7.3–7.5), and purified water for injection.
Key Features
-
Product Type: Sterile Ophthalmic Hydrogel / Artificial Tear Substitute (Over-the-Counter / Pharmacy Medicine)
-
Indications: Moderate to severe dry eye syndrome (keratoconjunctivitis sicca), evaporative dry eye (Meibomian gland dysfunction), computer vision syndrome, environmental ocular irritation (wind, air conditioning, smoke), and nocturnal corneal protection
-
Pseudoplastic rheology ensuring comfortable spread upon blinking
-
Pack size: 10 g sterile ophthalmic tube
How to Use
-
Wash hands thoroughly before handling.
-
Hold the tube vertically above the eye, tilt the head slightly backward, and gently pull down the lower eyelid to form a conjunctival pocket.
-
Squeeze the tube gently to instill 1 drop/strip into the conjunctival sac 3 to 5 times daily, or as directed by an ophthalmologist.
-
Instill 1 application at bedtime for overnight lubrication and corneal protection.
-
Contact Lens Wearers: Remove contact lenses prior to application; wait at least 30 minutes after instillation before reinserting lenses (cetrimide preservative and lipid phase may adhere to or discolor soft contact lenses).
-
Multiple Ophthalmic Medications: Allow an interval of at least 15 minutes between Liposic and other topical ocular agents; Liposic gel must always be administered last to prevent washing out thinner solutions.
-
Temporary blurred vision may occur for a few minutes immediately post-instillation due to high viscosity; avoid driving or operating machinery until visual clarity is fully restored. Discard 28 days after first opening.
